Time-frame: 8.4.2010 – 7.10.2012

The main goal of the project was to develop, implement and investigate laboratory models of photonic antennas dedicated for modern broadband Radio over Fiber (RoF) networks. The research included designing of driver circuits, integration of microwave and photonic devices, development of measurement methods and appropriate software used for this purposes. To minimize overall cost of developed transmission system, RoF devices were based on commercially available lasers and photodiodes. Different types of photonic antennas for bidirectional transmission were proposed and investigated. Finally, throughput and signal quality measurements in complete RoF system were conducted.
